- To provide supportive information and contacts for partners of adults
with Asperger's Syndrome

- Answering enquiries
- Providing information and newsletters
- Organising
and holding support group meetings and seminars
- Promoting awareness
within community about Asperger's Syndrome in adults and marriage.

ASPIA is a support group and information source
for those who are involved in or interested in marriage and long-term
relationships with adults with Asperger's Syndrome (or suspected
of having Asperger's Syndrome). At no time has ASPIA claimed, nor
does ASPIA claim, to be providing professional advice to its members
and enquirers. Whilst all care is taken to share information from
reliable sources, ASPIA does not take responsibility for the way
this information is implemented in personal situations. At all times
ASPIA encourages partners and other affected individuals to seek
professional advice relevant to their individual situation from a
qualified practitioner such as a psychologist, psychiatrist or counsellor.

Incorporation
Date of Incorporation: 29 July 2005
From 7 June 2003 until our incorporation we were
operating informally under the name GRASP Partner
Support Group.
Meetings
We meet monthly (except January)
on the first Saturday of the month, 2pm – 5pm at the College
of Nursing, 14 Railway Parade, Burwood (NSW). The College of Nursing
is between Shaftsbury Road & Burleigh Street just across the
road from the railway station. Parking available in Council Carpark
at rear,
access via Burleigh & Elizabeth St.
