A representative from Al-Anon will speak about the practical skills she has learned from Al-Anon that she applies to help make her life more manageable. Some of these strategies may also help partners of adults with AS.

Families, and in particular spouses, of alcoholics, suffer many stresses which lead to long-term harmful effects on behaviour and physical health.

In a similar way, families of those affected by Asperger's Syndrome suffer stresses which can give rise to Cassandra Affective Disorder (CAD).

It is possible that the methods used over manby decades by partners and friends of Alcoholics, in the Al-Anon Family Groups, may be of great support to those living in close proximity to AS.
